New to the Forum
Hi guys, I am new here, but I wanted to introduce myself. I live in Seattle Washington, but I grew up in Germany, Munich to be exact. Did you guys know you can get german tv here in the US? I mean like every channel, its pretty cool, it isn't free, but it is worth it, if you actually use it. Hope you guys have a great day!

Well its pretty easy actually, there is a website, its called www.join.tv and there you can sign up for a package, it costs me about $35 a month and I get all the main channels. Here is the cool part, they have something like a 7 day DVR, so anything that has been on in the last 7 days you can play back. It really helps, especially with the time difference, you can hook your tv up to a laptop if they have HDMI connections, its just like watching it in Germany!

Wow that's actually pretty cool. I know through my fios I can get a couple German Language channels (DW Amerika
ProSiebenSat.1 Welt) for $15 a month. Also I have a media center PC I setup with XBMC and on that I installed the "Der Spiegel" add-on and I can watch the news in German, or at least try to
.
I was looking for a way to get European channels during the NHL lockout in hopes to catch some of their hockey games. I don't need that anymore though.
Welcome to the site btw.

With this you can get all of the channel in Germany though, so its a bit different. Funny thing is, I don't have a lot of time for TV, so I only use the RTL Channel and I watch some pretty baaaaaad shows, probably should keep those to myself!

I know... if you have any ideas to help the community grow we'd love to hear them... We've tried soliciting nearly all the German-American clubs we could find, but only with minimal success in getting them to join. We still periodically post stuff that we find relevant and interesting. If you have any stories or interesting things to tell us about, feel free to share!

Well I don't have to much experience in all this, I would have said spread the word in the German Chat's, but that doesn't really exist anymore either. I guess its kinda hard, I myself stumbled over this website when I was looking for German Chat/Forums. I don't know to may german speaking people where I live either, its pretty much just me.

Funny side note, the TV station SAT1 will be broadcasting the Superbowl live tonight (1210am their time) and I am considering watching it on there, just to see the German view of the NFL
